a fair(y) use tale

this is clever. a tad long for the average civilian,yet informative and entertaining. created by Professor Eric Faden of Bucknell University.

the announcement this week of an industry-wide copyright pact has piqued my interest in the issue once again.

“These principles offer a road map for unlocking the enormous potential of online video and user-generated content,” Disney Chief Executive Bob Iger said in a statement issued by the participating companies.

not sure what to make of it at this point, but i do think it’s something we ought to watch this one closely. notably, google has not signed on at this point. my gut says the mega media co.s don’t give a rat’s ass about the creative potential of user-generated content. they’re out to protect their revenue streams.
