the right questions by debbie ford

k told me about the right questions by debbie ford. it was recommended by her life coach. i just finished it and want to buy copies for everyone i know. again, it’s nothing revolutionary or new, but ford advances her ideas in a very powerful, memorable way. as someone who’s been in therapy herself for almost 4 years, and who’s generally positive person i still need help from time to time remembering that i own my power. when i give it up to honchos or my own fears i can get mad, but it doesn’t change the fact that i am responsible for creating my own happiness. i choose how i am going to be, how i am going to live, and what kind of energy i am going to bring to those around me. an excerpt:

If you want to indulge in “poor me,” if you’re committed to being a victim and not going for all that you desire — then don’t use the questions. But if you are committed to being the responsible creator of your reality, to being the best “you” that you can be, and to having your life make a difference, these questions will show you the way.

  2. excellent. it’s a goodie! and when you reclaim your actively employed HR Goddess throne, you can suggest it to all your discontented employees.

i totes love the book. i haven’t finished it yet, but it has already helped me make better, healthier choices.

the ideas are not new, as col said, but the way ford writes about them, you can immediately start taking back your own power.

great recommendation. run, don’t walk, to your nearest bookstore. a great way to start off the new year.
