all the world’s a diorama

diorama.jpgReality is a question of perspective; the further you get from the past, the more concrete and plausible it seems – but as you approach the present, it inevitably seems incredible.
— Salman Rushdie

Lately, when I walk around outside, the city seems like a giant set. I look at buildings, the sky, the trees … everything and feel like I am walking around in a diorama. The physical world has become quaint to me. When the sky is clear, especially at night, I notice it a lot. I look up and it’s as if a giant deus ex machina arm could reach in and spin me in another direction.
