Hi everybody. My reticence in this space is a signal of nothing in particular. Things are ok. Steady as she goes. Family/Dad hanging in there and in better shape than we have been recently. Work is good, about to pick up and get busy. Moi? Still over the moon with the best puppyboy in the world. Talking to a lot more people, getting out there tons.
There is a bastion of ideas in my noggin. I need to focus … to get them out and get them down. Part of my present scattered-ness derives from my failure to commit them to paper/the page. Or organize them visually in some way. Consequently they are piling up. I need an Ex Lax for the brain.
“What I would do was look at the world and how other people were doing things. I just don’t like conflict. I don’t want to compete. I don’t want to try to do the same thing better. So I went off in very different directions from what was obvious.” – Steve Wozniak
RUFUS SCHMOOFUS. THAT 20-POUND SPOTTED PIGLET HAS A SUPER-SIZED SENSE OF ENTITLEMENT. HE CAME IN HERE LIKE HE OWNED THE PLACE. for four years i was the one and only and then outta nowhere, he comes barreling in. where’s the respect? while i am trying to be understanding about all of this, i am wondering how col could have let this happen. they say time heals all wounds and i hope that’s true. maybe the ruf and i will come to be pals. maybe i will school him on the ways of the col. he can be the Skywalker to my Yoda. but that’s all very ambitious. i would just he happy if he stopped hogging the bed and getting jealous everytime col so much as touches me. i’ve got my work cut out for me. and in the meantime i will continue to seek refuge on higher ground.
with the puppers. oh man. sorry for being MIA but you know how it goes. rufus met linda today, and went to his first dog park (tompkins square park), where he survived a half-hearted attack by an un-neutered pitbull. he made fast friends with brady’s lovely joss, and we all went together to a bar. what’s not to love? here are some pics.
saw i love you, man last night with phyll, a screening for viacom employees (i went as a guest). it was fantastic. i am generally a fan of judd apatow and his whole group of creative proteges. i love funny dudes. this one was all about paul rudd and his delicious awkwardness. he was spectacularly funny. and jason segel is great as well. his character reminds me of some of the hippyish dudes i have dated and/or been friends with over the years. it’s the contrast of those two characters — the lebowski-esque masculine free spirit and the sweet and sensitive yet repressed abercombie straight guy — that creates the tension and hilarity. this should be a big hit.
gotta love that rag!
