- I have been remiss in not giving you Bachelor recaps and commentary this season. But doubt me not ─ I was watching every step of the way and am one with Ellen DeGeneres and all others who think that Jason is a complete douchenozzle. What a self-involved weenieboy.
- I saw The Wrestler last night and really enjoyed it. Depressing, it is … very. But also very compelling. It’s about intimacy and how for performers, leaders, public figures or people with any kind of robust ego suffer deeply because their connections with others are often so shallow. I am not one to quote the good word often but this happened to just cross my path: “In the Bible’s book of Mark, Jesus declares, “A prophet is not without honor, except in his own country, and among his own relatives, and in his own house.”
- I saw 33 Iterations on Broadway on Sunday. Linda and I were seated next to Christine Lahti and Gloria Steinem and were a stones throw away from the stage. Jane Fonda has a smokin’ body ─ for real ─ and was amazing.
- A thought that’s hanging out in my head: “here be dragons,” a phrase used to denote dangerous or unexplored territories, in imitation of the infrequent medieval practice of putting sea serpents and other mythological creatures in blank areas of maps. Right now, amid this econolypse, we are entering a time of reset of the world melting of things getting redone rejiggered. No one knows what’s happening which makes us scared ’cause we don’t have a handle on it yet. We can’t describe it – it’s new territory. This is a good time to listen and create new ways. To toss out the antiquated systems that aren’t serving us anymore. To go off the leash … and become Somali Pirates.
