The group that sings “don’t walk away” is Jade not Brownstone. Still no decent wifi so I can’t post the vid til I get home. Nite nite bloggies.
Am on Vegas time today so it’s still morning. Am blogging from my iPhone so I can’t copy and paste the video link at the mo. Song is “don’t walk away” by Brownstone. According to qtip it was his inspiration for the song award tour. Bro Bri loves it too. It’s in my brain, and I urge you to check it.
the latest national health emergency got me thinkin on one of my fave pieces of dialogue. remember how much PF blew us away? we need another something crazy special real soon.
Vincent: Want some bacon?
Jules: No man, I don’t eat pork.
Vincent: Are you Jewish?
Jules: Nah, I ain’t Jewish, I just don’t dig on swine, that’s all.
Vincent: Why not?
Jules: Pigs are filthy animals. I don’t eat filthy animals.
Vincent: Bacon tastes gooood. Pork chops taste gooood.
Jules: Hey, sewer rat may taste like pumpkin pie, but I’d never know ’cause I wouldn’t eat the filthy motherfucker. Pigs sleep and root in shit. That’s a filthy animal. I ain’t eat nothin’ that ain’t got enough sense enough to disregard its own feces.
Vincent: How about a dog? Dogs eats its own feces.
Jules: I don’t eat dog either.
Vincent: Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal?
Jules: I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.
Vincent: Ah, so by that rationale, if a pig had a better personality, he would cease to be a filthy animal. Is that true?
Jules: Well we’d have to be talkin’ about one charming motherfuckin’ pig. I mean he’d have to be ten times more charmin’ than that Arnold on Green Acres, you know what I’m sayin’?
this is a silly question. widgets can’t “save” TV, but they can make it even MORE powerful than ever. the magic of TV + the informational depth of the internet = all kinds of awesome.
Been reflecting on the different lives I’ve lived in NYC. P and I ran a roadrunner race on Sunday and I was thinking of how that used to be old hat. Getting up early and meeting at the park for a run was the bane of my existence.
Lately I’ve been struggling to kickstart my exercise routine. It was only 3 years ago that I ran my last marathon. Seems like ages tho. K and I are training for the SF half in July. In theory, anyway. I wonder when I will turn the corner back into my essential self … the one for whom fitness is like breathing. I miss her.
